Here's a piece of conversation I had today
A: Lucas, you're disappearing!
B: Huh?
A: Yeah, you're losing weight!
B: Oh, thanks.
A: Yeah! Whatever you're doing, keep doing it!
I'll give you two guesses to figure out what's wrong with that conversation.
Here's what I spotted:
. Why is it that people ultimately assume that "you're losing weight" is a compliment?
. Being fat is so bad that I should keep at whatever I'm doing to change.
. In the end I'm not really doing anything to lose weight, so it was downright offensive, especially considering she doesn't know me and therefore has no idea if I'm happy or not with my weight and looks.
I know I'm terrible because I managed to dig up dirt in a perfectly innofensive compliment, but dammit, doesn't anybody else see the prejudice embedded in everything we do?! It's ninja prejudice!

I could be a little more perverse... If I were you, I would say I was doing chemotherapy sections and that's why I wuold be losing weight... LOL!
